Reviewers name their guides far more than the reefs. The praise is for patience with nervous first-timers and children, and for pointing out the rays and turtles you would miss on your own.
Plan for the sea
Seasick is the commonest complaint, on the whale shark ride above all. If you are prone to it, take something before you board, and eat lightly.
The statues divide people
Some find the museum the highlight; others find it odd, or faint from the surface on a choppy day. The reefs on the same trip usually hold more fish.
Bring cash, and read the fine print
The dock fee is paid on the day, and snacks on some trips come afterwards on land rather than on board. Your card says which.
